A young couple contacted us to design an addition to their small historic home in the Germantown Historic District. The house had already been altered by previous owners, who had converted part of the attic area to living space. However, the house remained too small for our clients’ needs, and the existing spaces throughout the house felt awkward and unattractive.
Working closely with our clients, we removed an old, unworkable first-floor addition, reworked the existing floor plan, and designed a two-story addition incorporating a new kitchen, entertaining area, master suite and screened-in porch on the first floor, and additional bedrooms, bath and playroom on the second.
